Sports Cast Update

New Look & Changes For Cafe Cast

Well hello there guys, long time to update

There's so much happening and planned to happen so i'll just get straight to it and save you wondering.

First off we got our big screen back YAAAAY...and for those of you who haven't been into the cafe for a while, we got brand spanking new couches and chairs for your comfort...as well as ours.

With all the new things being introduced to the Cafe...physically as well as activity wise, what i want to know is, what do you want to see happen...any new workshops...sweets...crisps...drinks...games or anything

If you have any suggestions, let us know through bebo.

Deveolpment on improving Sports Cast and Music Cast is under way so i'll keep you posted on that as news on it is brought to light.

With the sofa's now in, it is officially the first of many changes for the cafe, we would very much like to here your views on the changes and even any suggestions you have as well about changes you would like to see, again please mail your suggestions to our bebo.

Looking slightly into the future we would again like you to provide any suggestions on what we could run during our easter programme.

If you can give any suggestions of either...or even better all of them then that would be superb guys.

I'll keep you all posted on the upgrade of Cafe Cast, hope to hear all of your suggestions soon

An update from the desk of Cafe Cast

Hey guys, its been a great first week back into the new year, a few problems with the projecter yet thats all fixable, so that will be back to normal soon, next up on Saturday the cafe will be opening at the earlier time of 1pm but closing at 4pm as there is a event called labyrinth going on in the church next door, for all who are curious feel free to either ask at the counter or hang around after the cafe and come with us.

Looking further on, the rock will be closed on Friday 19th and Sat 20th for Staff Training (yup we were so laid back during the holidays that we need training AGAIN!! =p)

With that said and done have fun as always guys and see you all at the rock!! =]

Cafe Cast - Opening

A brand new year and a fresh new start for us, we also have fresh new idea's to let loose this year that will keep you entertained and rocked up.

Tomorrow on the 6th January Cafe Cast will officially open for the first time in 2007 from 2pm till around 7/8pm.

Afterwards the cafe will be opening every so often until issues will staff availability are resolved, so after the 6th keep your eyes peeled, and we'll keep you posted on our opening times.

Happy Christmas guys from all of us at Cafe Cast, hope you all got what you wanted, along with a few surprises, if your wanting to know when the Cafe will be opening its doors again so you can all show off your Christmas goodies then we'll be open again on 6th January, at the usual time of 4pm to 7pm, ready to rock like we always do.

Cafe Cast Closed

Well guys, the party to put it simply...ROCKED, you were all great and a big thanks go out to all those who participated in our challanges and congradulations to all those who managed to win a prize, but at the end of the night you were all winners as you all got a little goodie bag as you left.

With all that gone, we've finally called it a day and Cafe Cast will be closed over christmas and new year (duh even we need a rest) and we should be open about mid january, check the doors outside the cafe for the exact date. Have a good christmas and a even better new year guys

HUGE CHRISTMAS PARTY CAFE CAST STYLE

Another year nearly gone and past, hope you've had a blast with cafe cast, so christmas time is now upon so i hope you'll all come in and join us.

Well guys its christmas time once again and the team at cafe cast has big plans to make an unforgettable one and by that i mean the CHRISTMAS PARTY this saturday from 7pm onwards and tickets are £2.00 each, though the cafe will be shutting at 6pm to set up the fun and festivities.

We'll be having lots of crazy games, live music, a visit from Santa Clause himself (maybe) , lots of fun challanges, prizes to give away and a live performance from our exciting dance cast team.

After all that mayhem and festivities we'll be closing for the rest of the year and will be open again next year to greet you all with our usual crew and cool stuff to do, so till then enjoy yourselves and have a very merry christmas and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Festivities and Music

Hey guys, you all been good boys and girls this year, you'll find out soon as this year we will be holding a Christmas Party on the 16th December and Olde Santa may be making an appearance so you still have a little time to be good till the party :p

Moving on, Dance cast will be on as usual but at an earlier time of 7pm, thats cause one of our lucky dance cast teachers will be having her birthday that day, so say Happy Birthday to Shona on thursday guys, the dance cast girls will also be practicing for a live performance @ the christmas party so wish them all the best for the big night.

Music cast will be on wednesday & thursdays at the usual time of 6pm to 7pm, our own malcom will be taking Music Cast on thursday so be sure to take part guys.

Also there WILL be the possibility of Open Mic Night happening on Saturday with a few acts all ready practicing, anyone else wanting to take part, feel free to speak with any of the Cafe Cast team, we hope you'll all do us proud on saturday if we get the go ahead with the Open Mic Night.

Also once more another pool competition will be on us this saturday, and again another its another oppertunity to defend there title as Cafe Cast Champion of Pool, the competition will start from 7pm onwards, so again good luck to all you who join in the competition.

Theatrics and Dancing

Oi Oi guys, all reovered from last weeks fun packed saturday?...good, as we're doing it all over again this week with a few tweaks here and there to make it a little more unique.

First off there will be no music cast this wednesday as our man Josh will be off elsewhere, yet he'll be back to give you some hard hitting music on Thursday, so that will give you lot an extra days rest. Also on Thursday you will have the chance to either show off with your own dance moves or learn your own to 'wow' the crowd...or simply beat your dance rival, so come be who you want to be or improve on who you already are with Dance Cast.

On saturday, there will be a WHOLE lot to do, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm you will have your chance to put your drama skills to test with Stevie in the Drama Taster, i'm sure this drama king will blow you away with some of his legendary theatrical skills, so come and learn from the best...and did i forget to mention...IT'S FREE!!!

Again there will be another pool competition at the same time of 2.30pm onwards till the show down then you'll be able to cool off before either watching or taking part in this Saturdays Karaoke on the BIG SCREEN, choose your fav songs from the sing star charts and earn the reputation as the best singer at Cafe Cast.

Pool and Movies Galore

As the title suggests, we're having a pretty packed week guys, so calling all pool enthusiasts we need YOU, to put your skill to the test and defend your rep as a brilliant pool player against the rest, this battle of skill will take place this Saturday from 2.30pm onwards, hope to see you all then.

After the competition we'll let you all cool down then at 7.00pm we'll be holding a movie night, showing movies that were a blast in the past, to the newest action thrillers, should be great fun people ^^

Next up our very own Stevie will be holding a Drama Taster at the rock on Saturday 11th November at around 3.30pm, so all you drama kings and queens will have a chance to learn from our own dramatic wonder, Stevie

Lastly some bad news...kinda...the rock will be closed on the 18th november for yet another staff development day (boooooooo :p) yet we'll be back open again right after with more knowledge and idea's to keep you's all entertained Cafe Cast style.

Another Week another 'Cast' of Events

Well guys, i'll start off with the bad news first off then deliver the good news....

First off the cafe won't be open this Friday and Saturday for the following reason, no one will be there to run it, but thats where the good news comes in, no one will be there to run it because they all including me and those who applied will be going to ALTON TOWERS WOO HOO!!!! *ahem*

Moving swiftly on, dance cast, art cast and music cast will still be running as normal so make sure your around for all the fun each of them dish out.

For all those sad at the cafe being closed then have no fear, we shall try and bring back funny pics of all those who chicken out of going on the big scary rides....or just happen to slip up at the wrong time.

With that said, i hope you all have a fun time when we're gone and for all those going to Alton Towers, CYA THEN GUYS!!!

Another Week at Cafe Cast

Hey guys,

As always theres alot to do at the cafe and this week is no different...well with the exception of a few more extra activities that will hopefully appeal to you all. To start off we have Music Cast back once more on wednesdays and thursdays at the usual time along with Art Cast on tuesdays headed once again by our very own Neil Connell giving it that artistic magic that just makes Art...well...Art.

Moving swiftly on we also have a Pool Competition starting up again after its massive popularity over the summer, its a knock out round and to enter you will need to pay a measly 50p, this fantastic event will be starting this Saturday afternoon and we hope to see a few old faces aswell as new and upcoming pool players, lastly we have a movie night which will be showing some of the popular movies from yesteryear and this year, this will start after the pool competition and should be a good relaxer after a hard afternoon playing pool.

Finally onto Alton Towers we have "officially" after much whining and pestering of the masses filled the coach to Alton Towers yet if you give your name to our lovely boss Rosie she will add you to the waiting list and if any people unfortunately can't make it then you will automatically take there place.

With that said and done i once again hope to see you all there on saturday and any late entree's for Alton Towers please pester rosie and get your name on the waiting list, who knows, you may just make it and be up for a good day with the rest of us ^_^

Whats Up This Week At Cafe Cast

Hey guys this weekend there will be no cafe cast as there will be a staff development training going on (BOOOOO, HISS) which will help us be more effective at doing our jobs, although good news to this as we will be back and better than ever next tuesday with more fun and stuff than ever

In other news, Art Cast will be starting up next tuesday with our very own neil connell leading it, which will hopefully give a very artistic touch to it.

Also music cast will also be starting up next wednesday and saturday with josh at the helm, who will be making musical magic with all who attend.

Though moving onto next week in general there shall be loads and LOOOADS of Fun School holiday activities going on which should make that cafe cast experience a little more enjoyable than ever with open mic night on saturday to top it all off, so all you rusty musicians out there get practicing as we hope to have a star performance from all who participate :)

If you have any questions about next weeks festivities then dont hestitate to bombard us with all your questions, hope to see you there next week guys.

After a great summer the cafe will be closed for a wee break, so while you have all started back at school, most of the cafe cast team are away on their holidays! This will give me a chance to settle in, find out what you have all been up to and re-orgainise Colin's old messy desk! ( ah just kidding!) and of course plan the re-opening of the cafe. we are looking to re-open the cafe the week comencing the 11th of September but not sure as of yet which day it will be, so if you check out our Blog then we'll let you know nearer the time!

Pirate Night

Ahoy!!

On Saturday night we had a Pirates of the Caribbean night, right here in Cafe Cast!! Everyone turned up in their pirate gear and all who weren't dressed for the occasion were charged with a small fine. It was a night full of swashbuckling action and some of us did actually watch the movie!!
It was an awesome night!!!!!!

Next Saturday night we're having a beach party so you better get your beach wear sorted!

hey guys thought id do a wee bit on here to let u know a tad bout summer. The cafe WILL be open - I know a few people are questioning that. Look out for the new summer flyers for opening times. Theres going to be lots on during the summer in the way of activities and things to do, theres not a lot certain yet so if youve any ideas let us know! Band night is still planned for July 1st - thats going to be an awesome night!!! The cafe will be looking great after as its getting a quick make over for summer. Theres going to be a few new faces in the team which is fantastic - new people with new ideas! There will, ovcourse, be some of the original staff there who are so up for making the summer great for you guys! Sports cast is back! See sports blog for full details on that one!

1600 - 1900 Normall Drop in Cafe
1900 -2000 Under 18 Staff Meeting

Wednesday 19th
1600 - 1900 Normall Drop in Cafe

Thursday 20th
1600 - 2000 We have a team comming from Belfast to work in the Cafe, Normall hours apply, there will also be a foosball competition and a quiz!
2000- 2100 Sports Cast for all including Dodgeball and Volleyball in Stirling Baptist Church's sports hall.

Friday 21st (The Night before The Gathering)
1600-2000 We have a great night of events planned. Friday will be milkshake mainia all freshly made and served at the cafe cast counter. Friday will also include a pool competition starting at 6pm you must register before 5pm to be entered.
We also have a special karaoke competition starting at 8pm again you must register for this at the Cafe Cast counter.

PLEASE NOTE!!
Saturday we will be open for the Sale of Gathering Tickets hours to be annouced. We will also be running a late night cafe from 10pm - 1130pm approx. Hey guys not long to go till your all off school and college for easter.
We've got some bad news and some good news for you guys

We will be closing the first week of easter holidays, From Saturday 1st April until Saturday 8th April. This is allow a break for all the staff who volunteer and give up there time for 'Free' yes free! to take a well earned break, and for myself!

But now for the good news. We will Tuesday 11th April normally opening hours will apply!

Help Needed
Guys we need your help!
We need to keep the corridor outside free from smokers,(dont forget its illegall from the 1st April) people hanging around and going upstairs causing trouble!
We really need your support with this and would appreciate you spreading the word.

Superhero Gig!!

Yo!

Who was there on Saturday night? If you weren't you missed out on a fantastic night! We had DJ Bob Peck, Nathan (the busker guy), Deception and, headlining, Superhero!! Oh, how can I forget our fabulous if not slightly crazy MCs: The Cheese Sandwich and Furious Finch! (Cafe Cast's very own superheros in case you didn't already know)

The night progressed from DJ Bob pumping out tunes from his decks, to Deception and mates jumping, around thrashing each other in mega mosh pits!

Part way through Superhero's set, it was decided that our superheros weren't that super which lead to a pile up of about 20 people!! Unfortunately it was our very own Cheese Sandwich that bore the brunt of this and was on the bottom.

It was a brilliant night with excellent music although it was pretty exhausting but that didn't matter cause how many more opportunities am I going to get to see a human sized cheese sandwich and Malcolm in tights??

Well, if you missed Saturday night and want a chance to rock out, don't be dismayed cause on April 22nd The Gathering will be happening!

I'll make sure I see you there!

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to say how well known this site is becoming and just how much advertisement has gone into the Superhero gig. I put the posters up in my school and plastered them everywhere (I got permission beforehand). After doing this I walked into chemistry still holding the posters I had left when my teacher goes "Oh! It was you who was putting strange things on the science notice board".
I said it was me and asked him what the problem was. He said that he'd had no idea what it was and had checked out the websites I had put on the ticket information posters that I'd made. I don't know about you but I though that my chemistry teacher checking out the cafe's site was really cool!
I mean, my chemistry teacher checked out the site!

I'm sitting behind the counter updating this cause the cafe's quite quiet. I've been looking around me and can't help noticing the Superhero posters that Colin's plastered everywhere. I'm really looking forward to it so i figured out that it's only ELEVEN days until the long awaited Superhero gig!!!! I can't wait; it'll be soooooooooo much fun. I hope the snow will have cleared by then cause as much as I do love making snowmen traveling here is a nuisance.

Cafe Cast 4 Screen Film Night

Hey Guys, for all those Guys wh attended the gathering on Saturday Evening I hope you enjoyed yourself!!
This Saturday Evening will see Cafe Cast transform itself into a four screen cinema! The Choices of movies will be up to you!!! Screenings will be under the following four Catergories

Comedy 12
Chick Flic room
Action Room
Other

The choices of Film will soon appear on a vote in the Forum board. Votes up to midnight on Friday evening will be the final choices. If not votes are placed Staff will choose the Choice of film.

Each screen will abide by the laws of certification i.e. if the Film is a 15 and you are 14 you not be allowed to enter. Staff refuse the right to admission!

Hey guys hope you all enjoyed the Final Countdown as many as the staff team did. Man it seems like so long ago now that William Shugg and the crew dawned makeup and went about there set, a frightening experience!

Well hot off the Press Café Cast will Reopen; yes reopen on Tuesday 30th August. Opening Hours have also changed so Keep checking out the Blog each week for the Café Hours!

Cafe Cast. 2:00pm. Finished setting up and let everyone in. Unusually quiet.

2:30pm. Sold a view things. Managed to avoid practising pool. Luckily.

3:00pm. Oh joy. Got to tidy up in the kitchen. What fun. Also got to take some bottles to Costcutter to exchange to money. Coudn't do it so we took them back to the Rock.

3:30pm. Gave somone their orange Nokia 3510 phone back they used as a deposit for the pool table.

4:00pm. Fiasco over missing orange Nokia 3510 phone used as a deposit for the pool table. I said I gave it back to the owner. Dave got on my case a bit. Made two toasties with Gemma. She said Dave gets in moods like that.

4:30pm.Nothing really exiting happend. Somone got thrown out for hitting somone with a newspaper.

5:00pm.Still nothing exitings happend

5:30pm. Started Blog.

6:00pm. Still doing Blog. Bit bored.

6:15pm. Went home.

The Rock Community Project

The Rock Community Project was formed in 2003 as a broad based community project by Stirling Baptist. Although it was origionally an idea by the church it grew to be just as independant as the church itself.

"Cast" is the youth department of the Rock. The aim of the "Cast" is to: offer help and support for the physical, emotional educational, social and spiritual wellbeing of 11- 18 year olds in Stirling, from all social, economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. "Cast" concentrates its work on three areas to meet this overall objective: 1. Schools Work 2. Sports Programmes 3. Youth Cafe.

The Youth Cafe has a cyber cafe, FOOD!!!!!! nightly activities like a Kareoke on Tuesday nights and Quizes on Thursdays. You can also play Pool and table football or just sit around talking.
